INDIANAPOLIS (July 9, 2021) – The Indianapolis Public Transportation Foundation (IPTF) announces its inaugural golf outing scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9, at Sarah Shank Golf Course, located at 2901 S. Keystone Ave. Check-in starts at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and awards will round out the day.
This year’s event will honor Tommie Jones, former IndyGo board member and transit advocate. Her contributions brought Indy transit to the next level with the addition of the Julia M. Carson Transit Center and the city’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line. The event chair is City-County Councillor Monroe Gray.
“I’m thrilled to be able to combine my passion for playing golf and my commitment to supporting the advancement of mobility in Indianapolis for this exciting, rewarding event,” said Councillor Gray. “Excellent, safe and reliable transit is critical to providing equal access and enhancing quality of life.”
The IPTF will use proceeds from this fundraiser to assist IndyGo in creating mobility for those who need it most and enhance public transportation to create better access to employment, food, health care, education and other enriching and essential services.
Registration for this event is $125 per single participant and $500 per team of four. There are also several sponsorships available. To register online, click HERE.
