INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo is excited to partner with Indiana Fashion Week (INDFW) for the second year for the Beauty in Transit Fashion Show, at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, Friday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. This event celebrates the halfway point of IndyGo’s Purple Line construction project. Six local designers were commissioned to create looks with the theme surrounding beauty in construction. Models will include a collaboration with IndyGo’s Music in Transit, featuring artists from Chreece, an independent hip hop festival, who will walk the runway while their beats play.

INDFW is a multi-faceted initiative of the Indiana Fashion Foundation, that fulfills its mission of utilizing fashion as an innovative way to create impact. Scheduled for the week of Aug. 21-25, the event will include a youth designer challenge, girls’ empowerment day, runway show at the Fashion Mall, culminating with the runway fashion show at the Transit Center.

“We have the opportunity to attract ridership by incorporating cultural experiences into transit facilities like the Carson Transit Center,” says IndyGo President and CEO Inez Evans. “The collaboration with the Indiana Fashion Foundation is also an innovative way to promote the progress of the Purple Line and celebrate the work IndyGo is doing to improve our transit system and infrastructure in surrounding communities.”
