INDIANAPOLIS – Several members of the Indiana State Legislature asked IndyGo to analyze the impacts that any reconfiguration of segment 1 of the Blue Line (Holt Rd. to the Indianapolis International Airport) would have on the budget and the planned infrastructure improvements. IndyGo will hold a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to discuss the results with the community. IndyGo wants to ensure transparency with the community as we move forward on this shared journey for more robust mobility options for our city. IndyGo has held more than 120 meetings regarding the Blue Line since 2014. Register to attend the upcoming meeting HERE.
The Blue Line will be the third and longest BRT line planned to improve transit service in Indianapolis. The project is more than just improved bus transit, it will add an estimated $220 million of investment to the Washington Street corridor. This investment includes 17.5 miles of street resurfacing, 10.5 miles of new or replaced sidewalks, 3.3 miles of new or refreshed crosswalks, and significantly enhanced pedestrian and vehicular safety in the corridor.
