INDIANAPOLIS – Effective June 1, 2022, IndyGo’s Open Door service will operate under a new name, IndyGo Access. This paratransit program will continue as a reservation-based, shared-ride service available to those who meet the criteria established by the U.S. Department of Transportation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Services will remain the same for IndyGo Access riders until January 1, 2023. However, this change will mean a new logo and a new look for the buses.

“IndyGo is excited to implement the new and improved branding for our paratransit services,” IndyGo President and CEO Inez Evans said. “We hope this name will even more clearly communicate that our services are accessible by everyone, and can connect any rider to opportunities, no matter the circumstance.”

In addition to the name change, IndyGo’s Board of Directors approved the Beyond ADA policy in September 2021. Beyond ADA is a premium paratransit service for residents taking trips outside the ¾-mile ADA-mandated zone on either side of existing bus routes. Effective Jan. 1, 2023, service beyond the ADA will be modified.
