INDIANAPOLIS – IndyGo welcomes the public to learn about and ride a demonstration bus similar to those that will run along the Red, Blue, and Purple rapid transit lines. The 60 foot, battery-powered bus, manufactured by BYD, will be displayed at upcoming events and run limited routes; giving the public the opportunity to learn more about what rapid transit would mean for Indianapolis.

“IndyGo is excited to showcase this state-of-the-art bus technology in Marion County,” said IndyGo CEO and President, Michael Terry. “We encourage residents to learn about what dedicated transit investment would mean for our IndyGo network and community by experiencing the bus in person.”
On November 8, Marion County residents have the option to vote for dedicated transit funding. This dedicated local revenue source would fund the Marion County Transit Plan: a plan that would significantly improve the local bus network with shorter wait times, longer hours of service, all routes running every day, and rapid transit lines. Funding for the Blue and Purple rapid transit lines are dependent on passage and enactment of the November 8 transit referendum.
