INDIANAPOLIS — Beginning on or after Thursday, March 27, Washington Street will be under construction between Tibbs Avenue and Holt Road to replace a bridge over Little Eagle Creek. This work is scheduled to last until September 2024 or until construction of the bridge is complete.
During the closure, IndyGo Route 8 westbound service will detour using Tibbs Avenue, Michigan Street and Holt Road. The only temporary stop that will be serviced along this stretch will be at Tibbs Avenue and Steeples Boulevard. No stops along Michigan Street between Tibbs Avenue and Holt Road will be serviced by this detour for Route 8 to avoid confusion and ensure passengers’ safety. (See detour map below.)
IndyGo Route 8 eastbound service will detour using Holt and Cossell roads and Tibbs Avenue. A temporary stop will be available near Washington Street and Tibbs Avenue. (See detour map below.)
