INDIANAPOLIS — Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the exemption period for IndyGo Access riders who joined before October 2022 and currently pay $3.50 per one-way trip to, from or within the premium (Beyond ADA) area will expire. Once the exemption ends Jan. 1, all IndyGo Access riders will pay the $7 rate per one-way trip to, from and within the Beyond ADA service area, regardless of their sign-up date. Same-day service will continue to cost $10 per one-way trip for everyone within the Beyond ADA service area. Trips within the ADA-mandated area will not be affected by the policy change. See IndyGo’s website here to see which service area you may be in.

On Sept. 23, 2021, IndyGo’s Board of Directors reviewed and adopted the Beyond ADA policy after the agency conducted a series of outreach initiatives aiming to gather community feedback on the proposed plans. This included hosting focus groups, rider surveys and in-person and virtual meetings. It also meant conducting stakeholder interviews with individuals from human service agencies, such as Bosma Enterprises, to incorporate their expert advice.

Leading up to this change, IndyGo has shared various communications to keep riders informed through town hall meetings, physical mailings, phone calls, emails, website updates and more. Anyone with questions can contact IndyGo’s Customer Care Center at 317-635-3344.
