INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo will experience closures and detours due to the annual CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon Saturday, Nov. 9. The course, which runs through the heart of Indianapolis, will generate significant service impacts for transit riders, affecting on-time performance. Most street closures and detours will go into effect when bus service starts Saturday morning and could last throughout the day until 5:30 p.m.
One closure along Washington Street, from Meridian to Capitol streets, will begin Friday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. and end once the race is complete on Saturday. This will impact Route 8 westbound and Route 24 outbound services.

Red and Purple Lines
The following BRT stations will be closed until race completion:
- New Jersey
- Statehouse
- Vermont
- 18th/Meridian streets
- 22nd Street
- Fall Creek/Ivy Tech
Red Line passengers continuing south of 38th Street at College Avenue should exit at the Park Station and walk east to board at the temporary stop at 38th Street and Carrollton Avenue.
Purple Line passengers continuing along the route after the Orchard Station should exit and board the provided shuttle to reach the Park Station and continue south at the temporary stop at 38th Street and Carrollton Avenue.
Fixed Routes
Due to the significant road closures, the following local routes in the downtown area are expected to experience stop closures: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 38, 56 and 82.
