INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 15, 2014) – On Thursday, IndyGo will begin a new planning effort that will help set the agency’s direction for the next seven years. The IndyGo Forward planning process will ask stakeholders, policymakers and the public about how transit service should be distributed in Indianapolis.
“IndyGo Forward is an opportunity for the community to have a conversation about how we allocate resources in the transit system,” said Mike Terry, IndyGo President and CEO. “Should IndyGo focus the majority of its budget on providing services that attract strong ridership, or should we cover more area?”
The outreach effort will begin with stakeholder and public meetings this week including an online town hall for those who can’t attend a meeting in person.

- Thursday, Sept. 18, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 19, 9 – 11 a.m.
- Friday, Sept. 19, 4 – 6 p.m.

The input received at these meetings will guide the direction for immediate changes to the IndyGo bus system as well as a vision for the network. A second series of meetings is scheduled for late October which will propose specific changes to downtown routing to serve the upcoming Downtown Transit Center.
The online town hall meeting will be recorded and available for the public to view on demand after Sept. 19. Customers are invited to attend a meeting, explore the IndyGo Forward web page and provide comments.
