INDIANAPOLIS (April 24, 2014) – Version 2.0 of Indianapolis’ most comprehensive bike map, the Indy Ride Guide, is the first multi-modal map in the city with the addition of IndyGo bus stops and routes.
“The goal of the IndyGo – IndyCog partnership is to expand the transportation network for bicyclist and bus riders” says Kevin Whited, Executive Director of IndyCog. “It also helps riders of all levels feel comfortable knowing a bus route is nearby in case of flat tire or rain storm.”

The original Indy Ride Guide was released in September of 2012 and was the first of its kind for Indy. The updated version still includes an objective “bike-ability” index for all main roads to help determine street “friendliness” to bicyclists. Additionally the map features bicycle shops, bikeways, multi-use trails, parks, waterways, universities, major landmarks and now bus icons with IndyGo route numbers wherever public transit and bicycle amenities intersect.
Version 2.0 of the Indy Ride Guide will be debuted at Earth Day Indiana, Saturday, April 26 at White River State Park. The free outdoor festival takes place from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Stop by IndyGo’s table to pick up a copy of the new map, learn about IndyGo’s 31 fixed routes and get Endangered Species Chocolate samples. IndyGo will also have a hybrid bus, powered by Allison transmissions, at the event for people to learn how to Bike N Bus.
