IMG_5785Stephen Thein, an IndyGo Coach Operator for 27 years, is known for his excellence in customer service and his dedication to providing the highest quality service to his passengers. Stephen provides excellent service to our hardworking city residents, ensuring they have a safe, reliable and on-time ride.

An important metric in the mass transit industry is “On-Time Performance” (how often the vehicle arrives at its destination/stop up to one minute before or five minutes after its scheduled time).  In 2014, Stephen exceeded the national average, he had a nearly perfect on-time performance record, hitting 99%! This number is nearly impossible for a coach operator to achieve if you factor in city traffic, snow storms and construction.

When asked how he’s able to be on time so often he replied, “It’s about being aware of what you’re doing and always looking ahead of you. I put myself in the place of the passenger and imagine walking in their shoes. That’s how I’m able to provide good service to everyone.”

Stephen is known for being a kind and genuine co-worker  and for how much equity and empathy he shows the customers he serves. Coach operators like Stephen are what make IndyGo a great place to work and a great service to use.
